Sohyun “JEN” Yoon
A full-time overthinker, part-time oversharer and a lifetime in-betweener
I am a critical fashion researcher/practitioner based in between Rotterdam and Arnhem. My works often discuss struggle, coping and resistance and dare to be vulnerable and insecure but transfer the messiness with a witty voice. My writings have been featured in independent magazines such as A Magazine Reader (2021), The Pamphlet Body (2022), and Paratextile Magazine (2022). With Schone Kleren Campagne, I worked on Handmade (2023) exhibition to raise awareness of the Enforceable Wage Agreement for workers in the ready-made garment industry.
Coming from a fun and depressing combination of Fashion and Philosophy background, I set up an online fashion business during my bachelor's at EWHA Womans University in Seoul. After the bitter-sweet experiences in fashion retail, I am now exploring alternative ways of doing fashion at the Master Critical Fashion Practices, ArtEZ University of the Arts.
